Village Ždiar in the High Tatras

Village Ždiar is one of the jewels of Slovakia. It is a distinctive village below the High Tatras with its typical traditions, habits, folklore and culture and more than 1300 residents. It has a specific folk architecture and goral settlement. All the surrounding area is incorporated into the Tatra National Park, nature reserve Goliasová, nature reserve Belianske Tatras, UNESCO and PRĽA. Endangered species of flora and fauna can be found in the whole area. The cadastre is a part of the national ecological network NECONET.

Goral Obora - Ždiar

We offer you accommodation in our traditional goral cottage, which is a national cultural monument with a traditional courtyard, and there aren't many objects like this in our village anymore.
The cottage was built in 1938 and it has been preserved and reconstructed like this to this date. The name of our accommodation is derived from the traditional courtyard, which provides privacy and a very nice sitting for our guests. Our accommodation is suitable for families with children and people who are looking for beautiful nature and pleasant relax while also having privacy.
We are located in the center of the village, where there are very good civic amenities - there are restaurants, a pizzeria, a grocery store, an ATM and the post office nearby.

Cultural and historical attractions and beauties of nature are the advantages of this sub-Tatra area. It is a popular destination for tourism and recreation for foreign visitors thanks to the hospitality of Ždiar residents and the natural scenery, which we believe is one of the most beautiful in Europe.
